We started this selection firmly with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro. Released in 2021, it is still very popular. It owes its success to its 120 Hz AMOLED screen, the excellent battery life and the main 108 megapixel camera module that has proven to be effective every day. All under 250 euros at the time of writing these lines.
2. Samsung Galaxy A33 5G: the safe bet
The best deal for the Galaxy A33 5G
We continue with Samsung and its Galaxy A33 5G with more than one card to play against the competition. It is clear that we thought of the truly successful one-piece design, but also of the more streamlined One UI interface. If it is not the best technical equipment, we can still remember its water resistance, its versatility in photography and (especially) the promise of four years of major Android updates. At this price, only he can do it.
3. Oppo Reno 7: the most stylish
Oppo Reno7 at the best price Base price: €328
Oppo Reno 7 stands out because of its excellent design. In fact, the matte back does not mark fingerprints and the orange fiberglass version skillfully imitates the texture of the skin. Two days of autonomy and the excellent interface of ColorOS are two other assets to its credit. For those who want to switch to 5G, this model is however not compatible.
Top 3 of the best smartphones under 200 euros
1. Samsung Galaxy A13: for the Samsung experience
The best deal for the Galaxy A13
Regularly among the top best-selling smartphones on Amazon, the Galaxy A13 is one of Samsung’s most affordable models. For less than 200 euros, you are entitled to good build quality, XXL autonomy, but also a jack, microSD port and support for two SIM cards. We’re just sorry that the One UI interface has encountered some slowdowns.
2. Redmi Note 10S: for more power
The best offer for Redmi Note 10S
Redmi Note 10S takes the strong foundation of Redmi Note 10 (beautiful OLED screen, two days of autonomy, jack socket, dual SIM and microSD) by adding some improvements. The first is about the arrival of NFC, practical for mobile payments. The second is a nice performance boost if you want to play on the phone. Finally, the 64-megapixel photo mode allows you to take more detailed shots.
3. Xiaomi Redmi Note 11: for 90 Hz screen

For a few euros more, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 offers a screen with a higher refresh rate of 90 Hz (compared to 60 Hz for other references under 200 euros). For others, it is a balanced smartphone with excellent autonomy and a neat design. If you’re looking for a little more speed, the Redmi 10S is still a better bet at this price.
What can you do (and not do) with a smartphone for less than 300 euros?
The affordable entry-level phones found today are more than adequate for all day-to-day tasks. Calls, texts, messaging apps, web browsers and audio-video streaming apps won’t be a problem for them. Autonomy is also one of their strengths.
The most significant concessions will undoubtedly be made on the side of photography and video. Yes, a smartphone under 300 euros can take good shots in broad daylight, but no more. Night photos are often of poor quality and the secondary modules (ultra-wide-angle and macro) remain anecdotal. Also forget optical zoom in this price range.
Another sticking point is the performance. Despite the efforts of some brands to equip their low-cost mobiles with high-performance chips, perfect fluidity is not always achieved. The observation is the same for the gaming side. All the models in our selection will run 2D games without problems. On the other hand, the most demanding 3D titles like Fortnite Mobile or Genshin Impact can cause some fluidity problems.
