UCI Ranking – Evenepoel close behind Pogacar, Van Aert 3rd, Laporte 1st Blue

As every week, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) released the updated world rankings. A world ranking that is inevitably greatly affected by the various consequences of Worlds in Australia. or Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) still sitting on top, the Slovenian is now being chased by the inevitable Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team), which continues its momentum in The Vuelta 2022 by winning bronze in the time trial but above all gold in the road race. In a state of grace, the Belgian dismissed his compatriot Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) from 2nd place, for a royal podium and more of the lot. European one-day races are still performing well, Arnaud DeLie (Lotto Soudal) continued to rise and rose to 6th place. Christophe Laporte passes 1st French, Alaphilippe falls!

The Wollongong silver medalist jumped 13 places and was ahead of two other compatriots, Arnaud Demare (Groupama-FDJ / 17th) and Benoit Cosnefroy (AG2R Citroën Team / 18th). Regarding the ranking of the teams, Jumbo Visma always remained comfortable in the lead. There were no changes in the ranking of countries, Belgium ahead of France and Spain. In women, Annemiek van Vleuten (Movistar Team) ended his historic year with an unexpected world title and therefore logically dominates this ranking, ahead of Lorena Wiebes (DSM-Team). Silver in Australia, Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx) is on the 3rd step of the classification in place of the former world champion, Elisa Balsamo (Trek-Segafredo / 5th, -2).
