LEAGUE 1 – “From Paris to Lyon with QatarAirways”. After the sand yachting controversy, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) published on its Twitter account, this Sunday, September 18, a video showing its team joining Lyon (kick-off of the game at 9 at night) by plane. This procedure, which confirms that PSG has claimed his jet travel, has provoked the anger of Internet users on Twitter. The club has since deleted their tweet.

The Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune, himself reacted to this video, posting a Latin phrase on Twitter: “Errare humanum est, perseverare…”. Even a shortened version of the phrase “Errare humanum est, perseverare diabolicum”, cunderstood in French : “To err is human, to persevere [dans son erreur] devilish.”

However, Lyon is only 2 hours by TGV from the capital, sadly on his side dear mate, a media focused on environmental issues. It is added that this train journey is “about 50x less polluting than an airplane”. “The controversy of Galtier and Mbappé is fully justified, because PSG continues to give a damn about climate change”, he added. The monthly SoFoot is pretty funny too : “It’s still daring on the part of PSG to write FUCK YOU THE ECOLOS on the wings of their plane, right? »

In the second part of the video, we also see the players riding the bus. So the Internet users wondered why the coach was not favored in this short journey. “They also have a bus in Lyon that we can see in the video, they can only take it to return to Paris. It’s crazy”says the association “Uni-Vert Sport”.

And why not sand yachting?

As a reminder, the controversy began on September 4, when the director of the TGV and Intercity branch of the SNCF, Alain Krakovitch, challenged the club for its choice to go to Nantes by plane rather than by train. ” Paris-Nantes is less than two hours by TGV, I have renewed our proposal for a TGV offer tailored to your specific needs, for our common interests: safety, speed , services and eco-mobility”, he wrote in a tweet showing a video of PSG players on their private jet.

PSG coach Christophe Galtier was asked about the subject in a press conference. The technician, with a broad smile, replied: “This morning, we talked to the company we were traveling with to find out if we can’t travel on the sand yacht”. The question also sparked disbelief, then laughter from star striker Kylian Mbappé, who was sitting next to Galtier.

These statements led to many actions by environmental associations. Greenpeace appeared in front of the Parc des Princes with a sand yacht before the meeting between PSG and Juventus on September 6. And the adventurer “Capitaine Rémi” decided to go to Nantes on a sand yacht to prove in Galtier that it can. After 550 kilometers in all, he arrived in the City of Dukes this Sunday.
