On the occasion of the second day of the Europa League Conference, OGC Nice agreed to a draw with Partizan Belgrade (1-1). A counter-performance given in the scenario of the game.
Gatan Laborde is ineffective.
A week after conceding a home draw against Cologne (1-1), OGC Nice once again shared the points against Partizan Belgrade (1-1). When the meeting really started…
The game could not have started better for the people of Niois, immediately ahead of the score thanks to the Englishman Bryan (0-1, 2nd)! This ideal start gave Gym confidence and definitely explained the overall control of the first stage.
Laborde, the turning point of the game
Partizan got some chances with Diabat’s speed on the right side. But the real chances came from the French Riviera, like Laborde’s eccentric attempt, or Dante’s header, which did not deceive goalkeeper Popovic. So Nice deserved their advantage at the break, even if Atal had to save in front of their line with a strong strike from Natcho in the heart of the weak hour.
There was no panic in the Aiglons side who regained control of the ball on the way back from the locker room. We believe we will attend the action 0-2 in game time. But Laborde lacked spontaneity and missed a great opportunity! Undoubtedly the turning point of the game because a few minutes later, the unstoppable Diabat (1-1, 60th) equalized against the run of the game.
Diop hit the post
It’s hard for the Gym, the salary is bad and bad luck when the incoming Diop saw his head land on the post! The game was crazy with opportunities for each team. For its part, Partizan may regret the shot that was not framed by striker Andrade, who was well placed. Nice did well but will not be satisfied with this draw.
Game score: 6/10
After an unexciting first period, the game came alive upon returning from the locker room. The ball goes from one goal to another and the chances are many. All in a warm atmosphere.
– After a ball recovered high by Niois, the Serbian defense poorly rejected a center that was returned by Pp. (0-1, 2nd).
– At the end of a good collective action, Natcho moved Diawara alone to the right side of the area. The former Aminoi made a small hook inside and perfectly rolled his ball into the opposite skylight (1-1, 60th)!
The NOTES of Niois
Maxifoot assigns a score (out of 10) to each player’s comments.
Man of the match: Fousseni Diabat (8/10)
Great performance from the Partizan winger! From the beginning to the end of the match, the former Aminois was a poison for the Niois defenders, starting with Bryan who suffered a lot! He was logically rewarded with a beautiful goal, and could have added a decisive assist if Andrade had not missed his chance. At the end of the match, he also missed the match point.
Kasper Schmeichel (6): somewhat unsolicited, the Gym goalkeeper did the job with a good outing from a corner, and an important save from a strike from Andrade.
Youcef Atal (7.5): full of desire and energy, the right side makes a lot of difference in his lane. He is also valuable in defense with a save in front of his line. The only negative point, in general, is related to his accuracy in the last movement. But it’s hard to blame him because he struggled on both sides of the field.
Jean-Clair Todibo (7): solid, central defender reads opposing attacks well. He showed authority in his interventions, especially on Andrade at the start of the second period.
Dante (7): always calm in duels and the ball of the foot, the captain of Nioi shines in recovery. Short game, long game, no problem for the Brazilian author of a wonderful opening in depth for Atal. He could have found the way to the net but his head fell into the arms of goalkeeper Popovic.
Joe Bryan (4): offensively, the left side is a real asset. He opened the scoring with his bad foot and was successful with interesting crosses. The problem is that the English took water in his half of the field! It can be said that he met a Diabat who was in very good shape. Replace the 85th by Jordan Lotomba (no no).
Mario Lemina (7.5): the midfielder is featured! There is no question that he will play in the side. The former Marseillais always looks for verticality through the pass or through exceptional full-axis breakthroughs! His risks taken on the increase paid off, as did his high pressure. Replace the 81st by Pablo Rosario (no).
Khphren Thuram (4): hard to tell if the order of matches is in question. In any case, the versatile midfielder doesn’t have the legs to make a difference. Neither is winning his power defense battles like he always does. Maybe he knows his limits, he tends to play without. He tries to help Bryan in his battle against Diabat, not always successfully. Replace the 81st by Alexis Beka Beka (no no).
Hichem Boudaoui (6): timid in the first period, the Algerian international clearly raised his level of play after the break. His aggressiveness and his renewed strength allow him to throw himself more often and be more effective in recovery.
Nicolas Pp (6.5): encouraging performance for the winger on loan at Arsenal. Very mobile, he is always looking to bump into and mingle with his companions. An agreement was clearly established with Laborde, which he offered two standard opportunities. Despite his inaccurate set pieces, he deserved to end up with at least one assist. Replace the 85th by Bilal Brahimi (no no).
Rares Ilie (2): still waiting for a benchmark match, the attacking midfielder once again lost the opportunity to distinguish himself. None of his dribbling attempts were successful and the Romanian lost most of his duels. Bryan did not help manage Diabat and replaced the 63rd Sofiane Diop (no), who hit the post on his head. It remains to be seen if this is voluntary or if it is a lost discount.
Gatan Laborde (3): lacking in confidence, the striker came to this brutal lack of efficiency in front of the opposing cage. Goalkeeper Popovic intervened well with his shot from a tight angle. But he was too distracted by Pp’s second offer. Because of this, the 0-2 ball was wasted and Partizan equalized a few minutes later.
