Allowances, bonuses, fuel… here are all the help planned for the beginning of the school year!

Allowances and aid to increase the purchasing power of French households: this is the topic at the start of the 2022 school year! In fact, the Prime Minister, Elisabeth Borne, looks with great attention to the question of purchasing power. Abused by the war in Ukraine and the rapid inflation, it has not been heard since 1985!

On the eve of the start of the school year, many households will finally benefit from various allowances to cope with inflation. Back-to-school bonus, fuel discount, school allowance… Thus, a certain amount of aid is planned at the dawn of the new school year marked by inflation and the energy crisis. Once explains everything to you.

The Back to School Allowance

It is distributed annually to three million families as the school year approaches. Its number varies according to the age of the child. From 6 to 10 years old, parents receive 392.05 euros per child. The amount increases to 413.69 euros for children aged 11 to 14. It is 428.02 euros for children between 15 and 18 years old. The back-to-school allowance (ARS) is paid on the eve of the start of the school year and in one go. This allows parents to shoulder the often high cost of starting the school year. ” The back-to-school allowance is useful and fair! It is a valuable help (…) to finance the children’s supplies and to meet the costs of going back to school. “, declared the government spokesman, Olivier Véran.

Big news this year: like the number of allowances, it has been increased by 4% under the purchasing power law. The back-to-school allowance is usually already partially paid. The development will be the subject of a second installment in mid-September.

The return bonus

Parliament voted, on August 4, as part of the purchasing power bill, a unique back-to-school bonus aimed at supporting taxpayers. The back-to-school bonus is aimed at the most modest families, who already receive the social minima, APL and scholarship students. Payment will be made on September 15.

The Minister of Solidarity, Jean-Christophe Combe, evoked the ” a guarantee of unity and social justice for families and for those strongly affected by inflation“. The amount of this allowance is 100 euros per household and 50 euros per dependent child.

The fuel discount

Due to inflation, prices have risen, especially for energy. For more than six months, the price of gasoline has soared, often rising above 2 euros per liter.

The fuel discount decided under the authority of Jean Castex and extended by Élisabeth Borne aims to lower the price of the pump. This is a discount of 18 cents per liter of fuel, which has been made since April 1. It will even increase its value during the months of September and October, reaching a 30 cent discount. From November, it will fall and this time will go down to 10 cents.

The Pass’Sport allowance

Pass’Sport is a sports back-to-school allowance of 50 euros each eligible child/young adult to finance all or part of their registration in a qualified sports structure for the 2022-2023 season. Minor students receiving back-to-school allowance, receiving education allowance for disabled children under 19, scholarship students under 28, as well as those receiving allowance for Disabled adults under 30 can get Pass’Sport.

Help buying an electric bicycle

If there has been, for many years, help for cyclists who want to invest in a bicycle, now it comes to the electric bicycle.

Is the price of gasoline too expensive for you? Or do you want to do something for the environment? In fact, the aid devices will accompany your procedure from August 15 to December 31. The aid can reach 2000 euros for the purchase of a cargo bike, a folding bike, an electric bike trailer or a bike adapted for people with disabilities. For a simple new bicycle, the assistance can reach 400 euros.

This allowance is intended for people whose taxable income per share is not less than 13,489 euros. For people with disabilities and those whose reference tax income per unit is less than or equal to 6,300 euros. Thus, the aid can reach 400 euros.

The value sharing bonus

The value-sharing bonus replaced the unique purchasing power bonus known as the “Macron bonus” or “PEPA”. This, according to the same principle: exemption from social charges to encourage companies to pay them to their employees, and tax exemption for employees who receive them, under certain conditions.

It’s optional because it depends on the employer. If the employee earns less than three times the minimum wage, the bonus is financially beneficial. Thus, he will benefit from an exemption from social contributions and income tax, which is limited to 3,000 euros. In some cases, it can reach 6,000 euros. The premium can be paid in one or more installments, within a limit of one per quarter.
