However, the actor and writer for a time was at the center of a heated controversy that, in part, found its roots in the Internet. Come back.

You may not know, but before being called Lorànt Deutsch on stage, the actor and writer was born Lazslo Matekovics on October 27, 1975, to a Hungarian father and a Parisian mother. The Book of Discord

In 2009, his first book telling the story of Paris through the metro stations, “Métronome”, was a great success, selling millions of copies throughout France, and was even adapted for on television. Appointed a Knight of Arts and Letters in 2010, Lorànt Deutsch is everywhere. But with glory and honor comes controversy. In 2012, after the success of his book in bookstores and its adaptation in France 5, some voices were raised to doubt the statements of Lorànt Deutsch. At the time, the PCF-Left Party group in the Paris Council accused him of doing “ideologically oriented” work, and wanted the City of Paris to stop promoting it. At the head of this sling, Alexis Corbière, already an actor in the French political scene and professor of history, curries the “Metronome”. A book that, according to him, contains “many errors, myths and historical inventions.” “It offers an oriented vision that responds to an assumed ideological reading, permeated by the author’s religious convictions (…) that does not hide from the resentment of the Republic, especially of the French Revolution and -as he is nostalgic for the monarchy” we can read.

Same story on the side of William Blanc, doctoral student in history, who also highlighted through videos the mistakes in the work of Lorànt Deutsch. Not for the latter, who did not hesitate to defend himself with the AFP, which attacked by passing the profile of his detractors: “These elected representatives of the Left Front with a severely oriented panan- well. But, me, I respect their point of view . Let them respect mine (…) All this controversy started from a history student who targeted my book and non-stop for six months destroying it in my work and insisting that I am the relay of an ideology. Paris that he should have introduced himself. I am glad that he thanks me. Except that four years ago, Lorànt Deutsch found himself at the heart of another controversy…

A mysterious Twitter account

Here we are in October 2016 when things will be difficult again for Lorànt Deutsch. The Buzzfeed site accused him, through an article, of being behind a Twitter account, @lacathelinierre. Investigating journalists thus detailed how the writer and actor insulted his detractors there, promising them to “lie in the Bataclan”. At the time, this mysterious account that caused a stir in the social network of the blue bird provoked other users, and many of its terrible tweets were reported. To confirm their statements, Buzzfeed journalists identified the email address belonging to this Twitter account belonging to Lorànt Deutsch. The fact that the principal concerned has authenticated, ensures that he has never opened an account on Twitter.

In the columns of Le Figaro, Lorànt Deutsch once again responded to his detractors, firmly denying the facts of which he was accused: “These tweets are vomiting and it is clear that I have completely distanced myself from them. These bad words. But at the same time I am trying to know where this outpouring of hatred is coming from that is likely to damage my image and my action to popularize the history of France”, he insisted, thinking that he was “the target” of harassment”. “To fight these invisible and cowardly enemies”, Lorànt Deutsch declared that he was determined to file a complaint against X…
