UKRAINE – A wave of support for Olena Zelenska. In social networks, many women reproduce the pose of the Ukrainian First Lady, under fire from critics after doing a shoot for the magazine hip with her husband, President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This is a publication by the photographer of hip Annie Leibovitz that angered some internet users. Tuesday, July 26, the artist shared on Twitter the front page of the magazine dedicated to Olena Zelenska. “Portrait of bravery” is written on the cover, next to the First Lady sitting on the marble steps.

On the same day, the site published a long interview with the latter, which was decorated with many photos: Olena Zelenska in the middle of tired soldiers, in her husband’s arms or holding his hand.

But many netizens see this as an unfortunate set-up as the war in Ukraine enters its sixth month, as you can see in the tweets below.

In response to these criticisms, Olena Zelenska’s supporters responded and launched the hashtag “sitlikeagirl” (“sit like a girl”). Under this keyword, Ukrainian women took the pose of Olena Zelenska on the front page of hip.

Among these supports is the particular Ukrainian Women’s march that defends this shooting that presents the first woman “as a person, as a subject of action, and not as a counterpart to her husband” . The police, journalists, activists, or anonymous have a snub to all detractors.

In a long article dedicated to her, Olena Zelenska looks back on her daily life since the start of the war and the fateful night of February 24, 2022. “The past few months have been the worst in my life, and the worst in the life of all Ukrainians. In all honesty, I don’t think anyone realizes our ability to fight back emotionally., declares someone who knows who prefers to stay in the shadows. He said above all to wait” looking forward to victory” and did there is no doubt that (Ukraine) will win”.
