If we go back to the general classification at the start of this morning, the big upsets have already happened. The leader, Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma), was 7 minutes behind. Another Top 10 finisher, fifth, Ashleigh Moolman (SD Work), was more than 5’45” back.

The big winners so far are the leading duo, Demi Vollering (SD Work, 1’11 overall) and Annemiek Van Vleuten (Movistar, 1’28”). Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek Segafredo), fourth, 35” overall, was the first to chase. In the next group, relegated three minutes from the breakaway, we see Silvia Persico (2nd, in 30”), Katarzyna Niewiadoma (3rd in 30”), Juliette Labous (7th, in 1’13”), Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (9th, in 2’02”) and Evita Muzic (12th in 3’01”).

Demi Vollering raced to the top and took first position at the top (10 pts), ahead of Van Vleuten (8 pts). Demi Vollering made the descent and put the pressure on Van Vleuten, who was more tense on his bike, who conceded a few meters behind.
