What happens to Pony Club ? A popular spot for locals Toulouse since its opening in 2020, the ephemeral ginuette located in the grounds of The La Cépière racecourse seems to lose its luster this time in 2022. Between the cancellation of concerts and public discontent, morale is not good for this place, which is nevertheless very friendly with a musical program of exceptional quality in the Pink City . Response elements.
Conflict with neighbors
From the 2021 season, a major DISPUTES against the Pony Club of the district residents. The “Intolerable noise pollution”, was criticized in particular by the “Collective of residents of the Cépière against the disturbances of the Pony Club” after several fiery nights.
In the eye of the storm that followed these disturbances, the establishment did everything to fall in line and control the effect of the concerts on the surrounding houses. The scene was largely reoriented at the dawn of this new era. The efforts are appreciated, but it is still not enough for the residents. “There is a marked improvement, Sylvie Jeandidier explained, but this is not a place to hold an electro festival. We still want it to end. »
“Legal proceedings are ongoing and the organizer of the Pony Club will one day be held accountable for the violations of noise pollution regulations committed throughout the 2021 season.
Attracted by the program and atmosphere of the season of 2021, regular and new customers have been somewhat disappointed since the reopening of the establishment on June 18. In question: the volume of sound is far from everyone’s liking.
“Too bad the sound is not the same as the music program: not loud enough, bad balance, we can hear people chatting more than the concert…”; “If you can’t work properly because of the neighbors, stop the concerts. To charge us 20 € the entrance so no one hears, it’s a scam. »; “The bookings seem interesting, on the other hand the sound quality is terrible. The sound is very low and you can’t hear the voices of the artists. “… Bad reviews are raining on social networks despite good program and a very good atmosphere in the place.
“The concept is great. Prog is crazy. The frame is cool. But the sound please… I know there’s a problem in the neighborhood but it shouldn’t be abused either… What’s the point of an outdoor event if there’s no sound?? »
On the side of the “Collective of the inhabitants of Cépière against the troubles of the Pony Club”, we fear “a slippage of time” after this negative return.
And the cancellations that followed each other…
Another problem for the Pony Club: the proliferation of concert cancellations. In less than a week, four artists canceled their visit to the Pink City: afrojack (July 21), Alan Braxe and DJ Falcon (July 22) then Ofenbach (July 27).
The management assured that all these cancellations are “uncontrollable” and that “all places will be restored”.
Fatboy Slim, Martin Solveig or Leto will still ensure beautiful nights this summer, while waiting Timmy Trumpet (this Thursday, July 28), Bad (August 5) o MHD (September 10).
Management wants to be committed
Aware of the problems encountered since the launch of the 2022 season, the management of the Pony Club wants to be reassured about the remaining events. “We recently held a meeting to determine the outlines of the second part of the season and rework the programming. We hope to raise the level.” …
The establishment hopes “not to be disappointed” and assures its customers “that it is working in this direction”.
