PlayStation Plus: The “free” games on PS5 and PS4 in August 2022

Game News PlayStation Plus: The “free” games on PS5 and PS4 in August 2022

The month of July is coming to an end… So this is the perfect opportunity for Sony to finally reveal the games that will be offered in August to players with a PlayStation Plus subscription. So, are the various rumors true?

From Tuesday August 2, at around 5 p.m., players with a PS+ Premium subscription, a PS+ Extra subscription or even a PS+ Essential subscription, will be able to add three more great games to their collection. And if Spanish journalist Christian Henares’ predictions were wrong, Dealabs was right again. There’s no NieR Automata or Mass Effect: Legendary Edition on the horizon, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Little Nightmares. In other words, we deserve a program as good as this eclectic one this month.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 (PS4/PS5)

We kick off the August PS+ “roller hat” program with the arrival of professional skateboarder Tony Hawk who, here, equips himself with his best board. A remake of the first two opus of the saga, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 embellished the past of the license with new graphics and completely revised and corrected gameplay directly inspired by the controls brought in the fourth chapter of Tony’s video game adventures, but also in the Underground . The icing on the cake, the app takes the opportunity to bring together all the legends that created the aura of the saga, starting with Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell and Rodney Mullen. It also added some new faces like Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker and Leticia Bufoni.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon (PS4/PS5)

We continue as a combo Yakuza: Like a Dragon ! After watching the beat’em side for almost 15 years, the unforgettable saga of Ryu ga Gotoku Studio radically changes its formula on the occasion of the arrival of next-generation consoles. No more real-time combat, Yakuza: Like a Dragon chose to emphasize the RPG dimension of the series by now offering turn-based tactical combat. A bold bet, but it paid off, because the public quickly adopted this innovation. For our part, we were also attracted by this proposal: we chose a wonderful 16 out of 20.

Little Nightmares (PS4/PS5)

We will conclude the PS+ Essential program for the month of August with the arrival of Little Nightmares which, beneath its childlike appearance, hides a much more terrifying game. In this video game dream, the player embodies Six, a teenager wearing a pretty yellow raincoat, who must face a repulsive, terrible and always hostile bestiary. Between puzzles and chases, the title of Tarsier knows how to diversify the pleasures, and this, while offering breathtaking panoramas. It must be said that the whole is helped by an artistic direction of the fall that takes, without hiding, the foot of the genius Tim Burton.
