Dani’s funeral: a shower of flowers and stars for a touching final farewell
Died this Monday, July 18 at the age of 77, Dani was entitled to a final tribute in the cathedral of Perpignan. A beautiful farewell to the artist, especially marked by the intense emotion of stars like Gérard Lanvin, Anthony Delon or Mathilde Seigner.
Dani is no more. Died of a malaise on the night of Monday July 18 to Tuesday July 19, 2022 at the age of 77, the singer was celebrated in an intense and intimate way, together with all his loved ones. This Tuesday, July 26, a religious ceremony gave him a final tribute in the cathedral of Saint Jean-Baptiste in Perpignan, where he was buried immediately afterwards, inside the family vault in the cemetery of Saint-Martin.
His family and loved ones were there, such as Julien Auger, his son, and Emmanuel Auger, his son-in-law. His friends and so many emotional stars – like Gérard Lanvin, Anthony Delon, the singer Cali or Mathilde Seigner – and countless unknowns crowded in front of the religious monument in, each in their own way, begin their mourning and gather one last time with someone who had an impact on their lives. This ceremony, “very classic”in the words of those close to him, decorated with 1,000 multi-colored roses and songs to open and close a day full of emotions.
Dani was buried on Tuesday, July 26 in Perpignan
Many speeches were made as the last words were whispered to the singer, who had just finished touring his last album at the time of his death. “Dani is a multifaceted artist, she always knows how to put a poem and a love that is her own”said his sister Véronique, her voice shaking.
The interpreter of “Like a boomerang” left behind a life that could not be more complete, between careers in modeling, cinema and song. But Dani is the same known for lighting up the nights of Paris, where she dated Jimi Hendrix. A great woman must have died. Like his voice, hoarse, deceptive, and recognizable among a thousand.
